How it works at

This is our facility map

As you see, we run indoor daycare right in the middle of boarding

Doing it this way allows us to:
1) Switch dogs in/out of group quickly
2) Move between indoor and outdoor playtime smoothly and
3) Run temperament tests easily, releasing dogs into a group one by one

What is a temperament test, you may ask?
Temperament tests are required for ALL daycare and boarding dogs. It’s a process where we introduce different dogs to your dog one by one, slowly increasing the group size, and energy level. This lets us get a feel for what your dog is comfortable with, which play group(s) they’ll do best in, and we can give your dog their appropriate “zone” classification.

Green zone dogs: are good in play group, get along with any size dog, don’t fence fight or attempt to squeeze through gates, can participate in any activities (no history of resource guarding/possessive behavior), and can board in any kennel
Yellow zone dogs: are good in play group, but have some sort of restriction (only good with dogs their size, does better with only a few dogs, possessive over toys, etc.) and must be boarded in yellow or red zone.
Red zone dogs: don’t go in play group (but still enjoy 1-on-1 time with our staff), and MUST be boarded in the red zone. If your dog is difficult to handle, dog aggressive, people selective, a flight risk, etc. an extra fee may be added to your final bill.

Once we know which play group(s) your dog can go in, and where they can be boarded, you can choose how much space you want to give them overnight, or how much time you want them to hang out during the day.

Green and yellow zone kennels have a door in between them on the back wall, so you can book one or both!
Red zone kennels have doors on the sides, so we can open multiple doors at once, creating a big “family room”

  • ALL dogs entering the facility must be up to date with 3 vaccines: rabies, distemper and bordetella. There are several options to get proof of vaccination to us. You can register an account with us, log-in to the customer portal, navigate to the “Account” tab, and upload your documents via the “Upload Records” button. You can email a digital or scanned copy to adoggiedo@shots.pet. You can bring your physical documents to your first appointment. Or, at last resort, we can call your vet directly. Please note, if you arrive at the facility and your vet’s office is not open/does not answer, we will have no way to verify your vaccines, and your dog will not be permitted entry.

It is your responsibility to make us aware of any health and/or behavioral issues. These include, but are not limited to: allergies, prior injuries, medical conditions, medication needs, and any suspected illness or infection. We are not responsible for any pre-existing conditions, but will do our best to make sure your pet is as comfortable as possible.

  • Our guests get dirty quite regularly, especially if they’re going into daycare and playing with other dogs. Water gets dumped, slobber and mud get flung around, it’s just the nature of doggy daycare. If you’re staying multiple nights we suggest a bath on the day of pickup. This ensures that your dog gets to have as much fun as they want, and you get a clean, fresh smelling dog to take home.

  • If you haven’t already, register an account on our customer portal. If you have, log in and reserve your spot now! Once you pick your dates, you’ll be given the option to sign the agreement forms, request grooming services, and fill out your feeding instructions. Entering all this information in before you get here means you won’t have to fill out any paperwork once you arrive!

  • We start preparing breakfast, and do our first round of let-outs at 5am. Guests are fed, given a potty break, then they go to daycare to play with their friends. We may rotate groups to different areas throughout the day in order to make sure everyone gets plenty of play time.

Around noon we start putting dogs up if they have a requested nap or lunch. Daycare dogs are left to play in groups. Daycare is offered to our boarders, but we understand that not every dog is comfortable in a group play situation. Some facilities refuse to offer services to these guests, but we think that’s crazy. Every fur baby deserves some play time, even if that means we have to give them 1-on-1 attention. Taking care of each individual animal’s needs is the business we signed up to be in.

Around 3pm, it’s time to start getting ready for night time. Our staff begins preparing dinner bowls for the dogs that will stay that night and getting their bedding/blankets into their kennels. Once everything is ready, we pull boarders from daycare and place them in their specified kennel. Dinner is usually served around 5:30-6pm, then one last round of potty breaks before we close for the evening.

  • Guests staying 5 or more nights will need to pay 50% or more of their anticipated bill before, or at drop-off.
